President Biden announced today that all employers with at least 100 employees are to make sure their workforce is fully vaccinated or require unvaccinated workers to get a negative test at least once a week. The Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration is developing the rule and will issue an Emergency Temporary Standard to introduce the new vaccine requirement shortly. Companies that fail to comply could face fines of $14,000 per violation.
In addition, Biden announced vaccine requirements for federal workers, healthcare facilities accepting federal funding, and all contractors who do business with the federal government.
