Legal Update: Reporting Time for Certain California Employers 4.19.23

Employers who are covered by either the Health Care Security Ordinance and/or Fair Chance Ordinance must submit the Employer Annual Reporting Form to The Office of Labor Standards Enforcement (OLSE) each year. The 2022 Annual Reporting Form (ARF) is due on May 1, 2023.

Who’s covered under the Health Care Security Ordinance? Employers with 20 or more workers worldwide (and non-profit employers with 50 or more workers). As a covered employer, you must spend a minimum amount set by law on health care for each employee who works eight or more hours per week in San Francisco.

Who’s covered under the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance? Employers with 5 or more employees  (total worldwide) and City contractors, subcontractors, and leaseholders are covered by the Fair Chance Ordinance which requires certain protections to employees with a prior criminal history.
