Sara Shok
Associate Attorney

Sara Shok specializes in both business immigration and labor and employment law.  Sara assists business clients through the ins and outs of employment-based immigrant and non-immigrant visa matters.  From start to finish, she supports clients and applicants through the complexities of the immigration process providing cost-effective guidance, creative immigration solutions and I-9 compliance counseling.  In addition, Sara counsels and advises clients regarding wage and hour disputes, pay practices, employment and human resource procedures and compliance with various city, state and federal employment regulations. From on-boarding new employees to resolving disputes, she is available to answer questions and advise our clients on best practices of labor and employment law.

Prior to joining The Mitzel Group, Sara worked for two very large law firms concentrating on business-related immigration. Her previous work experience involved working at high volume, nationwide firms that catered to clients in a wide range of industries, including technology, healthcare, management consulting, and finance.  She continues that work at our firm, while expanding her expertise in employment law, an area of the law that she believes is essential to keep abreast of for business owners, especially in the state of California.

Sara also has a strong passion for public interest law and community service, having interned at San Francisco’s Public Defender’s office for several years.
